The Plan

Skiing and the lift, public spaces and access to Aspen Mountain, dining and lodging, and our town’s history. This is our chance Aspen.

LIFT & SKIING: A new Telemix lift that loads where the original Lift 1 was located, a few dozen feet from Dean Street.

OPEN SPACE: Willoughby Park, Lift One Park and Dolinsek Gardens connect the community to the mountain via the new ski corridor.

ACCESS: A pedestrian- and bike-friendly Dean Street with 50 public parking spaces, ski lockers, and bicycle storage.

HISTORY: Restore and reactivate three historic assets — Skiers Chalet Lodge, Skiers Chalet Steakhouse and Historic Lift 1 and create an Aspen Ski History Museum.

LODGING & DINING: Two new lodges at the base of the mountain with dining and après.

Gorsuch Haus and Lift One Lodge have cooperatively redesigned their projects to accommodate the ski and lift corridor, allowing Lift 1A to be relocated to its historic site — the very spot where lift-served skiing began in Aspen.
